HSEQ Manager - Utilities & Civil Construction

**THE COMPANY**

Road and Rail Excavations Pty Ltd is a medium sized, Sydney based, ISO accredited, Civil Construction Company, committed to providing quality utility installation to a variety of clients across Greater Sydney and regional New South Wales.

The company is a Level 1 Accredited Service Provider and accredited Sydney Water provider and is currently authorised to perform works for state authorities such as Essential Energy, Endeavour Energy, Ausgrid and Sydney Water.

**THE POSITION**

The primary function of this role is to support the project teams and be a prominent source of advice and guidance to management.

You will manage health, safety, environment & quality across the business. You will review HSEQ management system policies, procedures & initiatives, at company and project levels. This role presents the chance to work alongside professionals who encourage a collaborative team working environment. Supporting operational staff, you will implement management systems & site compliance systems including internal/external audit facilitation, corrective action close out, incident investigation, training, consultation, information research, and contractor management. To promote a positive safety culture, you will support and initiate improvements regarding HSEQ and regulatory compliance processes. Communication is key in this role as you'll liaise with internal and external stakeholders with relevant regulatory bodies.

**KEY EXPERIENCE & SKILLS**:

- Develop and manage project HSEQ management plans
- Risk identification & assessment, SWMS & SWI and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Carry out health and safety, environment & quality Internal Audits and workplace inspections
- Steer the development and implementation of HSEQ standards that align with compliance and due diligence requirements
- Work closely with senior management to adhere to legislative requirements
- Promote best practice and a positive safety culture
- Implement system changes and improvements to demonstrate continuous improvement
- Experience in dealing with SafeWork NSW and EPA NSW
- Experienced HSEQ Manager with a minimum of 5 years prior experience within the utilities and civil sector.
- Maintain current ISO accreditations
- Assist the company to obtaining OFSC Accreditation
- Demonstrate an ability to work independently.

**QUALIFICATION**:

- Diploma or Cert IV in WHS
- Lead auditor (ISO45001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001)
- Return to Work Coordination
- Cert IV In Training & Assessment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence
- Citizenship or permanent resident visa holder
- Current drivers license

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 38 per week

**Salary**: From $120,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
