**Position Information**:
Shoal Bay Public School is part of the Tomaree Learning Community, situated in Port Stephens on Worimi Country. It has an enrolment of 333 with 35 Aboriginal students.
Shoal Bay Public School provides K-6 students with quality educational programs delivered by a team of highly qualified, dedicated teachers and support staff. The school operates in partnership with parents and the wider community. It has large, attractive grounds to complement the excellent learning facilities. Strong emphasis is placed on explicit teaching in literacy and numeracy.
Students are provided with a wide range of extra-curricula activities in technology, creative arts, public speaking, environmental programs, music and sport. The school offers inclusive programs and caters for students from different cultural backgrounds. Parents are encouraged to be active participants in school activities and their child's education. Effective and extensive support programs are developed for children identified with additional needs through the learning support team.
**Selection Criteria**:
1. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary, demonstrated ability to develop self and others, leading to whole school improvement in literacy and numeracy.
2. Demonstrated highly visible leadership with a capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues, including early career and experienced teachers, that focuses on effective classroom practice and quality teaching and learning programs, that lead to successful outcomes and engagement for all students.
3. Inclusive and visible leadership with highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain authentic and effective working relationships with the whole school and wider community.
4. Demonstrated leadership capacity in managing effective behaviour and to positively contribute to whole school wellbeing processes that support the wellbeing of students so that they can connect, succeed, thrive and learn.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
