Job Title: Defence Sport and Recreation - Qualified Lifeguard Pool Attendant
Job Overview:
**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor pool areas to ensure the safety of all patrons, enforcing pool rules and regulations
- Perform lifeguard duties, including rescuing distressed swimmers and administering CPR or first aid when necessary
- Conduct regular inspections of pool facilities, identifying and reporting any maintenance or repair needs
- Oversee the training of new lifeguards, providing guidance and assistance as required
- Maintain a clean and organized pool area, including regular cleaning of pool decks, locker rooms, and equipment
- Monitor and maintain water chemistry levels, ensuring water quality and safety standards are met
- Operate and maintain various heavy equipment used in pool maintenance, such as robotic cleaners and pumps
- Conduct regular patrols of the pool area to prevent accidents, respond to emergencies promptly, and maintain a safe environment
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering inquiries, resolving complaints, and offering assistance to patrons
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills by effectively managing schedules, shift changes, and team communication
- Collaborate with team members and management to develop and implement emergency response plans and protocols
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with colleagues, patrons, and external stakeholders
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, providing regular updates, reports, and incident documentation

Qualifications:

- Valid lifeguard certification from a recognized institution
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Proficiency in pool maintenance and cleaning procedures
- Knowledge of water chemistry and water quality control
- Experience in operating heavy equipment used in pool maintenance
- Strong physical fitness and endurance to perform lifeguard duties effectively
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Prior experience in a customer service role is an asset
