About The Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and self-driven individual to join the Balmoral team as a Therapy Assistant for 6shifts per fortnight (Mat leave cover).

Location

Overlooking picturesque Smythe Lake, Aegis Karalee includes a host of amenities including lounge areas where residents and guests can mingle in a relaxed and social atmosphere. The word _Karalee_ is an Aboriginal word meaning "waterhole near grass" which was sourced from the National Library of Australia. The highest standard of care, therapy and allied health services are provided, with particular attention to the individual needs of the resident and their family. The wings all have dining areas and access to well-maintained gardens and patio areas which gives a homely feel.

As an integral part of the team, you will:

- Provide mobility and exercise programs to our Residents under the direction and supervision of the Physiotherapist.
- Provide recreational and other Therapeutic activity programs to our Residents under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
- Participate in the organisation and planning of Therapy programs.
- Deliver a range of Therapy-based activity programs as directed.
- Complete accurate documentation in line with relevant guidelines.
- Accompany Resident groups on outings.

Requirements of the role
- Hold a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or higher/equivalent.
- A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent/higher or experience (Desirable but not essential).
- Have experience in a similar role preferred (Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant).
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coach staff to deliver quality lifestyle and therapy activities.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Have empathy with the elderly.
- Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.
