Job Purpose
The Analyst Programmer is responsible for helping drive innovation and improving quality across the business. This position is also responsible for driving program development, maintenance and integration of systems to create client driven solutions.
Key responsibilities of the role are to develop and maintain systems and program suites that help improve standards of performance, quality, productivity, efficiency and innovation, ensuring compliance with all expected SOP’s and quality standards.
The Analyst Programmer will work to ensure maximum value is delivered from the existing automation suite and identifying skill gaps and opportunities for improvement. Automation of repeatable processes to increase efficiency throughout the business is critical to the success of this role.
To be successful in this role, the Analyst Programmer must facilitate and have a deep understanding of the customer’s needs and limitations. The analyst programmer needs to be able to identify gaps by researching alternative methods to program or integrate an end-to
- end solution. The analyst programmer will need extensive experience both in digital document preparation, operational workflows and equipment being used by those workflows and existing programs.
The analyst programmer is part of a team of specialists that ensure the customer requirements are managed and implemented using programs and existing tools to create positive outcomes for the client and the business.
It is important that apart from a clear understanding of client needs, the analyst programmer requires effective communication and collaboration with specialist groups within the business. Relevant stakeholders are updated as required and project milestones are achieved.
Job Holder Responsibilities
Core responsibilities
- Design, develop, create, document, analyse, diagnose, test, debug and modify computer systems, programs and integrations in conjunction with a customer and internal specialists.
- Have a deep understanding of business processes in order to document, integrate, develop, maintain and modify technical processes/solutions to ensure synergy with business processes.
- Be capable of creating specifications, scoping and costing.
- Programming in various languages as required.
- Analyse user information system needs.
- Research, evaluate and recommend solutions and appropriate technology to meet client and internal needs.
- Devise and provide technical support on-site or remotely.
- Maintain computer systems and programming guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Any development and/or solutions needs to be done considering the highest security standards to protect the data and the business.
- Work with specialists within Precision and external specialists/stakeholders to analyse and act on information received for the purposes mentioned above.
- Keep up to date with trends and updates in the software and hardware utilized by
Precision and bespoke programs written for clients.
- Help develop a culture of continuous improvement, and service excellence.
- Help develop a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Skills & Experience:
Required skills
- Tertiary academic or trade qualifications and/or substantial knowledge in both business and computer science is required.
- Experience in digital print transformation creation and storage and data capture.
- Experience in print, data preparation, manufacturing workflows, printing devices and other supporting equipment, generally found in offset and digital print environments.
- Specific knowledge and experience in working in the print/mailhouse industry or similar.
- Knowledge of C#, Javascript, Python, Visual Basic, Java, JSP, HTML, SQL, CSS.
- Working knowledge of disruptive technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning and blockchain.
- Work with clients and internal specialists to identify gaps in technologies in existing systems for the purpose of improving procedures, processes and methods.
- Guide and consult using the analyst programmer’s expertise to develop strategies and proposals for software design activities and provide development/implementation time, resources and cost estimates.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and work towards tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff and projects, strong problem
- solving skills with the ability to independently evaluate and recommend solutions.
- Excellent customer service skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate and work with a diverse range of people and working styles.
- Demonstrated experience in an IT environment, particularly in print and mail.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independence, judgment, and initiative.
**Salary**: $66,000.00 - $80,00
