Production Planner

**The Opportunity**
We are seeking a Production Planner with excellent leadership and time management skills who will be responsible for accurate forecasting and planning to meet production needs.
Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, this role will be a unique blend of working collaboratively and cohesively with the Production team leads, focusing on efficiencies, balanced with a proactive approach towards problem solving, whilst being a member of the planning team, and utilising your commercial and strategic thinking to ensure materials and inventory keep up with forecasted demand.
Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, a successful Production Planner is responsible for:
- Collaborating with key departments and stakeholders within the business, such as Production team leads, procurement, sales and marketing, in order to plan and formulate production plans whilst complying with TGA and WH&S programs and processes.
- Review sales demand and other critical inputs to the sales forecast, while creating and maintaining an accurate 12 month rolling forecast.
- Strategically review raw material and other component requirements to identify and opportunities for improvements and efficiencies, such as minimising excess and obsolete stock.
- Build and review production plans which allows Production team leads to convert them into specific production requirements
- Act as a liaison between production, purchasing, sales and marketing to address and resolve issues - revise schedules and issue change orders as needed
- Proactive approach to determining supply of raw materials and other required components to meet current and future demands
- Plan the most efficient processes to allow for optimising equipment utilization whilst liaising with Production team leads to monitor production progress, material inventories and other factors affecting schedules.
- Strategically reviews records of production level, monitoring progress against plans and recommends appropriate corrective action
- Foster a culture that focuses on safety, team work and delivering for the customer
- Developing and maintaining standard work processes, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Experienced raw material planner and other parts/components within a manufacturing/production organisation
- Experience in fast paced planning background with multiple production runs
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Strategic approach towards problem solving and maximising output
- People-focused attitude, with proven ability to work with and influence a diverse workgroup
- Quick learner with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
- Experienced SAP user
- Proficient in excel, with the ability to pull and manipulate data for reports and to make data driven decisions.
- An inquisitive and innovative thinker who is customer-centric with the desire for continuous improvement
- Effective stakeholder management with the ability to influence teams cross functionally
