We’re looking for a committed and passionate Sustainability Manager to join our Culture & Sustainability Team to lead Sustainability strategy implementation and reporting_. _You will be comfortable in a fast paced, agile environment and work collaboratively to lead and deliver our ESG strategy, prepare for mandatory Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), deliver ESG reporting and emissions reductions plans. You will bring operational excellence and a passion for improving REA’s ESG performance.
What the role is all about
- Development, implementation, collaboration and coordination of the organisation-wide (Australia & India) ESG Strategy, including delivery and reporting.
- Lead the implementation of our decarbonisation plan.
- Lead annual emissions calculations and reporting including implementation of Watershed.
- Provision of expert advice and collaboration with internal teams (Finance, Risk, Legal) on implementation of changes relating to the mandatory climate-related financial disclosures - Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS).
- Driving and building support, engagement and advocacy for sustainability across the organisation including championing sustainability initiatives.
- Supporting the GM Culture & Sustainability to lead REA’s ESG committee
- Lead the preparation for annual sustainability reporting, reporting best practice and developing and implementing measurement tools that will drive the business to deliver continuous improvement in sustainability performance.
- Lead assurance over climate and sustainability metrics, act as the primary liaison for the external consultants, managing communication, coordinating project timelines, ensuring alignment with objectives, and facilitating the timely exchange of information and resources.
- Lead the data collection, analysis and submission of key ESG reports including S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), as well as the analysis of the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) ESG rating report.
- Bringing external sustainability perspectives into the business to challenge, provoke and educate our people on emerging trends and issues for SAAS companies and more generally, ongoing competitor benchmarking
- Thought leadership on environmental topics including, science-based targets, net zero goal and decarbonisation initiatives.
- Lead one direct report
Who we’re looking for
- You’ll need to demonstrate your skills and experience in sustainability, and you’ve probably got 7 + years professional experience in a similar role (either consulting or in-house).
- A Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business, Sustainability or Environmental Sciences would be valued, but we’re more interested in who you are than where you’ve been.
- Practical experience and understanding of climate reporting in accordance with ASRS S2 standards, along with proficiency in carbon accounting in line with the GHG protocol, and experience assessing climate risk, including conducting climate scenario analysis.
- Experience delivering sustainability and or integrated reports.
- Experience operationalising sustainability strategies and decarbonisation plans
- Program management and communications experience will help you get the job done
- You’ll have the ability to influence at the most senior levels and will bring a positive, collaborative attitude to work with you every day.
