**Grounds Person**

Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a Grounds Person to join the School on a permanent basis in this hands-on position.

Reporting to the Grounds Manager, this role is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the School’s sporting fields, cricket pitches, grounds, synthetic surfaces, garden beds and associated areas.

This is a full-time ongoing position.

**You will**:

- Ensure the professional presentation of the Melbourne Grammar School ovals and synthetic surfaces for all matches and training sessions.
- Prepare turf centre cricket pitches and practise pitches to a high standard.
- Maintain the school lawns to ensure they are always in peak condition.
- Handle equipment, chemicals and operate machinery in a safe and responsible manner.
- Assist with the maintenance of the gardens and collaborating with outside contractors when required.
- Stay abreast of all irrigation programming to ensure efficient and effective irrigation practices.
- Identify and recommend improvements to ensure the ongoing vitality of the schools turf areas.
- Please note, Melbourne Grammar staff must hold or be able to obtain a valid Working with Children Check_
