**Your Mission**
- As a Field Engineer you will be responsible for developing highly technical solutions in response to sales and customer requirements. Under supervision responsible for equipment installation, maintenance and updating supporting the remote communications needs of our customers in the Energy, Mining, and Maritime industries. Specifically includes fixed and stabilized VSAT systems and networking devices.

This position requires land and offshore travel, international travel, frequent overnight stays and the ability to perform to a high standard in stressful situations.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Assembly, installation and troubleshooting of both fixed and stabilized GEO/LEO/MEO VSAT systems, L Band system, LTE systems and IT/network equipment.
- Complete and submit all job documentation and paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Compliance with mandatory company procedures.
- Compliance with client site HSE procedures and documentation.
- Carry out testing and rack builds as required in the workshop.
- Configuration, installation and troubleshooting of remote subscriber equipment to include but not limited to:

- Network routers, switches, wireless access points and VOIP phones.
- Stabilized and fixed VSAT antenna equipment
- Antenna Control Units
- Satellite modems
- RF Equipment
- UPS and Power Distribution Systems
- Installation and Termination of various Coaxial, Power, Fibre Optic, Network, and control cables.
- Use of various test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, DVM’s, network cable testers and Fibre testers.
- Provide day to day preventative maintenance and repair of VSAT hardware.
- Problem Resolution, working with clients and other service providers to resolve complex network related issues.
- Ability and willingness to train and mentor junior technicians on specific hardware and technology being deployed to customer sites.
- Ability to remotely assist junior technicians in the field when needed.
- Proficiency with use of engineering drawings for installation, troubleshooting and repair.
- Work closely with Engineering and Product Development teams in the review and testing of new VSAT hardware and technology.
- Provide remote customer support as needed.
- Ability to travel globally, onshore, and offshore in support of our customers.
- Prepare and dispatch equipment and hardware to sites prior to installation, as needed.
- Complete all plans, diagrams and procedures related to installations including the as-built documentation.
- Promotes and maintains a safe and positive HSE presence within the team and day to day workflow.
- Comply with the requirements of the Safety Management System
- Conducting safety/toolbox meetings
- Ensure compliance with system procedures.
- Facilitate/conduct risk assessments (JHAs)
- Report incidents and hazards.
- Participate in incident investigations.

**Education and Experience**:

- Associates degree in IT, Telecommunications, Communications or 3+ years of relevant work experience. Commensurate military experience may be acceptable.
- 3+ years relevant work experience in Onshore/Offshore remote communications industry is preferred.
- Commensurate military qualification with satellite or radio communication equipment.
- Qualified Electrical/ Instrumentation experience.
- Preferred proven and demonstrable experience with satellite communications fundamentals, VSAT, antenna RF systems/sub-systems, cable installation and termination.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Proficient with iDirect, Newtec and Comtech Satellite Modems, L Band antennas, Stabilized antenna, Cisco routers, switches, and wireless Access Points.
- Experience preferred with RF Spectrum Analyzers and RF theory.
- Familiarisation with IP routing, switching, security and VOIP.
- Onshore and offshore cable installation
- Ability to perform tasks with little to no supervision.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills driven to exceed customer expectations.
- Detail oriented individual with proven ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks concurrently and within deadlines.
