We're looking for a passionate Piano Tutor to join our team at Twelve Tone Music Academy We're a music school in Perth’s northern suburbs that’s committed to delivering tailored music lessons to our students and community.
We're looking for someone who can connect to pupils both young and old, with patience and the ability to deliver lessons with a student driven approach.
The ability to teach multiple instruments is highly valued.
As a Music Teacher at Twelve Tone Music Academy, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality music education to students of various ages and skill levels. Your role involves fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment while progressing students through structured lessons and skill development. You’ll work closely with our team to deliver an exceptional learning experience in both private and small group lessons.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Deliver individual and group music lessons, ensuring progression and a structured curriculum for all students.
- Create professional lesson plans tailored to each student's needs, goals, and learning pace.
- Support school events, including concerts and recitals, by ensuring student readiness.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff and management to improve tuition quality.
- Maintain a clean and organised teaching environment, ensuring instruments and equipment are in good working condition.
- Contribute positively to the school culture by promoting a supportive, inclusive, and enjoyable learning atmosphere for students and staff.
You'll be fully supported in this role, all teaching materials will be provided, all scheduling and student payment and communication will be handed by the admin, so all you have to focus on is teaching
**Work Hours and Schedule**:
- Flexible working hours based on class schedules and student availability.
- Availability to teach during peak lesson times, including afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays as needed.
- Occasional event and concert participation outside of regular teaching hours.
**Desired Competencies**:
- Musicianship and the ability to teach various instruments, music theory, and techniques to different age groups.
- 2 or more years of teaching experience.
- A Bachelors of music or equivalent.
- Familiarity with AMEB exams or equivalent.
- Experience teaching groups and bands.
**Required Competencies**:
- Have AMEB grade 6 or equivalent playing ability on their instrument/instruments.
- Teaching experience.
- Be able to reliably travel to/from the school.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to connect with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- A commitment to maintaining a professional and organised teaching environment.
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $32.00 - $43.00 per hour
