Reporting to the Operations Manager an opportunity exists for a highly motivated Engineering professional to support our production facilities and become involved with our global business.
**Position duties & Responsibilities**:
Compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and accreditations
Systematically identify and eliminate hazards and risks to people, equipment and the environment
Take full responsibility for accident/incident investigations and oversee all associated corrective actions until completion
Ensure the highest quality, low cost and optimum delivery of product and services to support the monthly production plan
Lead systematic continuous improving through Hofmann’s LEAN initiative.
Specialised Heat treatment of steels and other metals including:
- Carburising
- Nitriding
- Ferritic nitro carburizing
- Carbo
- Nitriding
- Induction hardening
- Vacuum Treatments
- Sub-zero treatments
- Annealing
- Hardening
- Continuously drive down NCR costs by using modern manufacturing problem solving techniques like root cause analysis
- Able to implement and run CQI-9 and AMS2750
- Achieve and improve delivery KPI’s year on year
- Implement and drive an effective maintenance program to support on time delivery
- Motivate staff by training, development and performance management
- Set and drive clear objectives for staff on a yearly basis
- Address performance issues in a timely and constructive manner
**Skills and Competencies required**:
- Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Metallurgy or material Science
- Relevant industry experience. (10+ years)
- Effective communicator (verbal and written)
- Ethical in fulfilling duties
- Compliance and understanding of safety regulations
- Staff supervision and coaching skills
- Understanding of international standards like ISO 9001 and AMS2750
**Salary**: $75,042.15 - $178,492.96 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bassendean, WA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
