The role
Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Governance Teams you will be responsible for leading, managing and undertaking statewide quality and safety, clinical governance and designated projects to enable the timely and effective delivery of complex and sensitive state-wide initiatives in mental health alcohol and other drugs care. A key priority for the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Branch is the ongoing support provided to Hospital and Health Services with the implementation of the Comprehensive Care Initiative - partnerships in care and communication to support safe and quality service delivery in Queensland Health mental health alcohol and other drugs services. You will also be responsible for liaising, consulting and developing partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders, providing advice and guidance on specific issues relating to the provision of safe and quality care in mental health alcohol and other drugs services.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for preparing high level briefing documents, submissions, correspondence and reports to enable the provision of strategic advice and providing representation on behalf of the Clinical Governance Unit and Office of the Chief Psychiatrist on state-wide committees to develop effective, innovative and strategic health service responses to the needs of people with mental illness, substance use disorders and suicidality.
The successful person
To be successful in the role, you will have demonstrated experience in leading the design, management and implementation of clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement or continuous clinical quality improvement initiatives. You will also have a contemporary knowledge and understanding of issues relevant to clinical mental health alcohol and other drugs service delivery, best practice improvement methodologies in relation to healthcare, organisational change management and other relevant areas.
In addition to this, you will have managed complex system-wide or state-wide projects, provided high-level analysis and evaluation to achieve deliverables and outcomes, and have excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to cultivate productive working relationships.
