**About the position**

We have several Civil Construction apprenticeship positions now available at the Kyogle Council. These positions are suited to anyone eager to make a difference in their local community, loves working outdoors and is keen to pursue a career in the Construction industry. An excellent opportunity to start at an entry level position and learn all aspects of road building and construction, bridge structures, and much more.

**The Opportunity**
- Assist in the maintenance and construction of roads, footpaths, cycleways, kerb and guttering and bridge structures and other council assets.
- Working outdoors in a wide variety of locations and environments.
- Develop skills and knowledge relating to the Civil Construction Industry.
- Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with a team to ensure all work health & safety practices are adhered to.
- Working in an all-inclusive culture where all people are valued, and differences respected.
- Working a 9 - day fortnight
- Positions based at Bonalbo and Kyogle Council depots.
- Gain a nationally recognised qualification - Cert III in Civil Construction

**Who we’re looking for**
- Ability to work and interact effectively as a team member
- Has a construction industry White Card or the ability to obtain.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills both oral and written.
- The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to perform a range of general labouring and maintenance duties.
- Year 10 Higher School Certificate or equivalent, as a minimum.
- Physically fit and healthy for performing manual labour work.
- A commitment to the principles and practices of work health and safety.
- Behaviour that positively demonstrates values of respect, inclusivity, and safety.
- A current drivers’ licence desirable but not essential.
- Presents a positive image of the council to the public.

**Salary**: $16.00 - $28.00 per hour
