**The Opportunity**
As our Capital Manager you will be responsible for planning, managing and directing engineering resources for the execution of the capital plan at our Virginia manufacturing site. This includes the identification of capital related opportunities to support site management in the achievement of enabler plans. You will also develop business cases and coordinate capital approvals for the site.
The Capital Manager evaluates project progress and provides financial forecasts to ensure timely execution of the site capital plan, along with providing day-to-day management and evaluation of site capital engineering, project management and contract engineering staff.
**The Accountabilities**
- Partner with operations and business unit stakeholders to identify and evaluate opportunities for operational improvement, feasibility assessment and developing compelling business cases.
- Coordinate equipment suppliers, factory access and contractors to develop budgets, timelines and specifications to develop a compelling business case to support the capex justification in accordance with relevant site and industry safety, food safety and quality standards.
- Project Execution - develop capex documentation for capex approval; coordinate multiple project teams in the execution of concurrent projects to achieve identified deliverables on time and within budget.
- Regular capital spend forecasting, strategic planning and capital project close activities.
- Travel to supplier sites (interstate and occasionally international) approximately 10% of your time as required for specific projects.
**The Ingredients for Success**
Just like you can’t make a Tim Tam without chocolate, there are a few essential ingredients we need for this role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Advanced project management skills with 10+ years’ experience managing engineering and/or cross functional project teams within a manufacturing company including external engineering contractors, preferably within FMCG.
- The proven ability to actively identify and execute opportunities for operational improvement.
- Demonstrated capital coordination and finance skills.
- Technical documentation skills and the ability to coordinate technical issues and design work with other functions, sites or suppliers.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; the ability to manage conflicting deadlines, changing priorities and multiple tasks.
