As an Investment Analyst, you will play a crucial role in conducting in-depth research, analysis, and due diligence on potential investment opportunities. You will be responsible for evaluating companies, monitoring market trends, and providing valuable insights to support their investment strategies.

**Key Role Responsibilities**:

- Initial Due Diligence (DD) on Companies: Conduct thorough research and analysis on companies under consideration, with a focus on identifying potential "fail fast" areas and assessing their viability for investment.
- Company Briefings and Presentations: Participate in company briefings and presentations to gain insights into their operations, strategies, and growth potential. Contribute to the evaluation of these companies based on the information obtained.
- Coverage of Australian Companies: Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Australian market, including both public and private companies. Track their progress over time through continuous monitoring and analysis.
- Network Mapping: Build and maintain a network map of key individuals within the Australian market and industry.
- Tracking Global Clinical Trials: Stay updated on global clinical trials, specifically focusing on themes relevant to our clients' portfolio and target investment list. Provide regular reports and analysis on the progress and outcomes of these trials.
- Competitor Analysis: Conduct competitor analysis, assessing the performance of competing investment portfolios and analyzing returns. Monitor the investment landscape to identify emerging trends and potential opportunities.
- Investor Network Mapping: Identify and map the investor network within the Australian market. Analyze investment patterns and strategies employed by prominent investors.

**Qualifications and Competencies**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field. Advanced degrees and certifications (CFA, CAIA, etc.) are a plus.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to gather, interpret, and synthesize complex data.
- Knowledge of the financial markets, investment strategies, and valuation methodologies.
- Proficiency in conducting company and industry analysis, including financial modelling and forecasting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively present findings and recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with the Australian investment landscape, market trends, and key players would be advantageous.
