**Position Information**:
Ourimbah Public School is located on the Central Coast of NSW and is nestled in a beautiful bushland and rainforest setting which provides a unique teaching and learning environment. Our school was first established in 1863 and proudly sits on Darkinjung land as part of the Central Coast network of schools and a member of the Valley Schools Learning Community (VSLC). With a current school population of 364 students, we currently maintain 15 mainstream classes and share a positive partnership with the P&C Association and broader parent community. Our Aboriginal student population is 7% and the school has strong links with the local Cooinda AECG, including an active school-based Aboriginal Education Team. Our school offers a broad range of extra-curricular activities which support and enhance a holistic learning program, including sport, dance, choir, public speaking, band, cultural, environmental and leadership initiatives. A strong focus upon improving literacy and numeracy outcomes through the integration of technology, and the enhancement of wellbeing programs to support the teaching and learning cycle, are central to the school’s strategic directions.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
- Demonstrated capacity to work as part of an executive team and balance exemplary classroom practice and management skills with the complexities of the Assistant Principal role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and build teacher capacity in the implementation of high-quality literacy and numeracy programs, using evidence-based assessment and effective data analysis to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Proven ability to plan, lead and collaborate with others on whole school wellbeing and learning and support programs designed to promote inclusivity, mutual respect, student engagement and effective behaviour management.
- Demonstrated experience in whole school strategic planning, data-driven analysis, research-based practice and embedding technology meaningfully.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
