Waste and Circular Economy Officer

**Status**: Maximum fixed term full-time for 2 years (35 hours per week)

**Salary**:$90,862 - $104,492 pa plus 12% super

Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive Council committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. Our Sustainability and Resilience Team is seeking a Waste and Circular Economy Officer - Business Engagement.

**Purpose**:
The purpose of this role is to plan, deliver and support waste avoidance and resource recovery initiatives for local businesses. Through education and tailored solutions it will build waste knowledge, strengthen source separation, promote best practice waste management, and increase landfill diversion in line with Council’s sustainability goals.

**About the role**:

- **Project Management Delivery** - Plan, develop and deliver business focused waste education and customised engagement projects that reduce food waste to landfill and improve resource recovery practices.
- **Stakeholder Engagement and Capacity Building**- Engage and build relationships with local businesses, internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and promote waste reduction and resource recovery initiatives.
- **Data & Reporting** - Coordinate data collection, analyse feedback and trends, and prepare reports to ensure project outcomes are tracked and communicated.

**About you**:

- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, local businesses and external partners.
- Ability to work autonomously on projects and initiatives, demonstrating project management skill, proactiveness, adaptability and a strong commitment to achieving outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering waste reduction and recovery projects, community and business engagement, sustainability, local government environment and/or equivalent experience.
