Mechanical Fitter

IKAD Engineering is an Australian owned engineering firm specialising in the marine, mining, mineral processing, water and oil & gas industries across all principles.

We have an immediate start available for multiple suitably qualified applicants.

These are full time locally based roles.

As such, the roles will suit those looking for the work life balance.

Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisors, you will be responsible for providing mechanical maintenance services within the naval/commercial ship repair & industrial sectors in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Criteria:

- White Card. (CSAT)
- 3+ Years Post Trade.
- Demonstrate fitness for work and possess the ability to pass drug and alcohol screening.
- Be suitably experienced with the execution of site and workshop based duties.
- Be prepared to work mid-week and weekend overtime at short notice if required.
- Possess a current Driver's License.
- Have the ability to obtain military facility access and provide a clean police clearance.

Desirable Criteria:

- Ship Repair in Naval and Commercial environments.
- Rigger/dogging recognized qualification.
- Forklift Ticket.
- Confined Space.
- Elevated Work Platform.
- An appropriate mechanical trade certification.
- Repair exposure to gearboxes, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, conveyor components, compressors, diesel engines, bearing fitment techniques etc.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards and take appropriate action.
- The achievement of targets in the areas of safety, environment, quality and production thereby ensuring the continuing viability of naval repair projects.

- Possess the ability to effectively liaise at all levels and across functional boundaries.
- Have the ability to work effectively with mínimal supervision and with a high degree of autonomy.
- Display a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.

- Salary of $70,000 - $90,000 with overtime penalty rates applicable.
