**About the role**

An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Instrument Technician to join Maroondah CSSD on a permanent part time basis.

Eastern health is the largest public health provider in the eastern suburbs, providing a comprehensive range of high quality acute, sub-acute, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care and community health services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.

Eastern Health operates from many different locations; our largest sites include Angliss Hospital, Box Hill Hospital, Healesville and District Hospital, Maroondah Hospital, Peter James Centre, Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre, Wantirna Health, Yarra Ranges Health, Yarra Valley Community Health.

We are responsible for the reprocessing of reusable medical equipment for Surgery, Endoscopy and other areas of the hospital. The CSSD team are skilled, friendly, supportive and dedicated to ensuring the highest standards in the reprocessing of medical equipment. This will be an opportunity to develop your career in the sterilizing service.

**About you**

To be successful in the role you will have:

- Certificate III in Sterilizing Services
- Experience in CSSD
- Ability to work flexible rosters including weekends and Public holidays
- Basic Computer skills
- A Positive and friendly attitude
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills

Experience or knowledge of Decontamination and Sterilization of surgical instruments in accordance with AS 5369 (2023) is required. Ability to process specialised equipment including flexible endoscope & loan equipment is an advantage.
- Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the _Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice)_. Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment._
