**About the role**:
We are looking for a Loss Prevention & Recovery Specialist to support the organisations loss prevention procedures and efforts to safeguard company assets, prevent and minimise theft and reduce shortages and fraud.
You will be responsible for the gathering, validating, documenting, and updating the Retail tools with accurate data to ensure the sites can successfully implement, monitor and adapt to key KPI’s (example.: inventory, waste, theft, register controls, site expenses) to increase site performance.
This position will play a critical role in analysing and providing trends to the business around KPI measures and where there are opportunities.
This role is hybrid with flexible working and based at our brand-new office in Alexandria.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Supporting & where practical developing the risk-based plans & strategies to address security risks across the network
- Supporting an effective risk-based matrix that provides guidance on the types of security measures that need to be deployed across the retail sites
- Implementing programs to conduct threat & vulnerability assessments & security reviews based on the risks to assets
- Maintaining effective relationships with relevant industry associations to ensure Ampol is measuring industry best practice
- Supporting & implementing a centralised internal control management system for our retail stores. This system will have oversight on POS statistics, shop audits & associated investigations & rectification measures
- Supporting & maintaining an effective internal audit program at all of our retail stores that serves to minimise Ampol’s exposure to theft, financial loss & reputational damage
- drive-off and recovery management will be a critical component of the role.
- Supporting, mentoring & assisting in the development of the auditor team
- Providing insights & intelligence to mitigate risk
- Conduct periodic inspections to stores and provide coaching and support
**About you**:
This is a great role where you will be seen as a key member of the team and be given the chance to make your mark on how we roll out best practice risk initiatives. You will have prior experience in similar roles supporting security, incident management, resilience, and risk management in a retail environment. You will have strong communication skills and experience with criminal briefs. You will be able to gain trust quickly, be influential, can remain calm under pressure and be confidential.
**Key skills and experience**:
- Undergraduate degree in commerce or relevant technical degree
- At least 3 years experience in a loss prevention environment.
- Ability to analyse financial information and provide insights into trends and recommendations
- Experience in Retail operations at a store level
- Proven ability to provide analytical insights in a user-friendly manner and communicate to stores
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft particularly Excel (data manipulation) and PowerPoint
- High level of verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management
