**The Role**

The Skills and Training Group is seeking to fill one Executive Officer (EO) position in the VSL, VET compliance and TRA Division (VVCT). The role will require you to assist the First Assistant Secretary in their day-to-day business with a focus on the key policy and service delivery work being undertaken across the Division.

Executive Officers have an important role in promoting cross-division work and communication to identify gaps and undertake projects to:

- Enhance leadership and capability development for our people
- Ensure consistency and quality of policy and program management
- Refine policy settings and directions.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Managing workflow in and out of the office is a key aspect of this role and the successful applicant can expect to be responsible for a range of matters, including:

- Analyse complex material and key policy issues and distilling key information.
- Effectively represent the First Assistant Secretary with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the workload of the First Assistant Secretary’s office: quality assurance of papers/following up work items to flow through to Deputy Secretary/Minister’s office.
- Provide the coordination point for the Division with our corporate business partners.
- Monitor the environment and ensuring the First Assistant Secretary is aware of any urgent or emerging issues.
- Coordinate and manage divisional corporate responsibilities, including assisting with accountable and efficient reporting, analysing the Division’s budget and personnel reports, managing all corporate planning such as business plan, risk plan, cabinet and Departmental budget processes and Annual Report input for the group.
