The Perth RPS **Water Science team **delivers urban water and water resources management solutions to tier-1 clients Statewide. We work across land development, mining and infrastructure sectors, providing varied water services, including urban water management, flood studies and hydrological and environmental monitoring.
Our dedicated team are looking for **Hydrologists **_(at all levels)_** with a background in urban water management and related hydrology disciplines to be based in our **West Perth** office. You will be working collaboratively with other RPS professional disciplines in environmental, earth sciences, marine sciences and water engineering.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
As a Hydrologist, you will work alongside and support our team of hydrologists and water resource engineers. Depending on your level of experience and career objectives, key responsibilities are likely to include:
- Prepare reports for regulatory approval, including Better Urban Water Management (BUWM) reporting, annual aquifer reviews, and monitoring reports.
- Undertake surface water investigations, flood studies, drainage modelling and associated reporting.
- Liaise with clients and/or project teams, including civil engineers, landscape architects and planners
- Liaise with regulatory authorities to negotiate water planning approvals
- The collection, compilation, presentation, and evaluation/analysis of technical and field hydrological and hydrogeological data.
- Execute and/or manage Environmental Field Investigations, including surface water sampling, drilling supervision, groundwater sampling, infiltration testing etc.
**ABOUT YOU**
- 3 years to 15+ years’ experience, specifically in urban water management, but with mine surface water hydrology experience also viewed favourably
- Experience in the preparation of urban water management plans and strategies and other environmental reports
- Experience in the design of stormwater drainage systems and flood mitigation measures
- Hydrologic and Hydraulic modelling experience is required (including working knowledge on XPSWMM, or InfoWorks ICM is desirable)
- Familiarity with Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR 2019)
- Experience in executing fieldwork including water quality monitoring and sampling would be desirable but not mandatory
- GIS experience desirable (in ArcGIS, Global Mapper or QGIS)
- Ability to prioritize workloads, work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrate a desire for professional development and self-motivation for continual learning
