The Department of Renal Medicine at St George Hospital seeks a permanent parttime Nephrologist to provide renal and obstetric medicine services to patients of St George Hospital. Experience at consultant level is required, with particular emphasis in the management of patients with CKD, hypertension, end stage renal failure and transplantation. Committment to ongoing research is expected. Experience in patient centred care in a multidisciplinary context is expected. Subspecialty interests in dialysis or transplantation are encourgaged.

The Department of Renal Medicine at St George hopsital is a busy service with multiple outpatient CDK and hypertension clinics, approximately 250 dialysis patients and over 250 transplant patients. In addition, there is a growing multidisciplinary renal supportive care program and obstetric medicine service. Research interests include hypertension in pregnancy, hypertension, renal supportive care and clinical trials. There is a growing departmental interest in environmental nephrology.

The position will be primarily located at St George Hospital(s) but may be varied as agreed with the Director of Clinical Services and as approved by MDAAC to other facilities in SESLHD. There will be some requirement to service The Sutherland Hospital after hours.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with Staff Specialist (State) Award.

SESLHD covers urban and suburban communities and manages eight public hospitals and one public nursing home:

- Royal Hospital for Women
- St George Hospital
- Sutherland Hospital
- Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital
- War Memorial Hospital (third schedule with Uniting Care)
- Gower Wilson Memorial
- Garrawarra Centre

SESLHD also operates 28 Child and Family Health Centres, 12 Community Health Centres and nine Oral Health Clinics; providing prevention, early intervention and community-based treatment, palliative care and rehabilitation services.
Drug and Alcohol, Mental Health, Breast screening, HIV/AIDS, Public Health, Women's Health, Youth Health, Sexual Health, Imaging and Pathology services are provided at a number of facilities across SESLHD.
The primary location of this position may be varied as agreed with the Director of Clinical Services and as approved by MDAAC to other facilities in SESLHD. There will be some requirement to service The Sutherland Hospital after hours.
