**This opportunity**
The **Transmission NOC Manager **position is responsible for managing the Transmission Network Operations Centre (NOC) with providing the maximum possible service availability and performance across TPG Fixed Transmission Domain.
The Transmission NOC Team operates 24/7, 365 days and is responsible for monitoring both the elements and systems that comprise the Transmission network and the Facilities that support key hubs in the TPG network. In this role, you will be expected to perform as a lead in managing a team of engineers responsible for ownership over incidents and other events associated with the health of the TPG Fixed network and associated facilities.
Duties will include ensuring the highest level of network and service availability through the Transmission teams adherence to departmental and organisational procedures & escalations whilst working collaboratively with peers and resolver groups.
As departmental processes are designed around ITIL practices, it is essential that the holder of this position holds ITIL Foundation certification or can demonstrate a high level of awareness of ITIL Service Management practices.
Other responsibilities include Event Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Risk Management, Change Enablement
This position requires an on-call availability, and is based in Sydney, NSW
**Responsibilities**
The following list of activities fall under the responsibility of the Transmission NOC Manager, whose duty it is to ensure these are all undertaken efficiently and effectively:
- _ Transmission (Network Engineers, Network Operations):_
- Leading a team of NOC Engineers providing 24x7 monitoring of the TPG Fixed network
- Rostering and administration of the NOC Engineers
- Mentoring and knowledge transfer
- _ Incident Management:_
- Ownership of incidents on the TPG Fixed Transmission network & of facilities monitored at key locations
- Ownership of Post Incident Reviews related to the TPG Fixed Transmission network & of facilities monitored at key locations
- Collaboration and assistance with incidents in other domains
- Company-wide Network incident notifications & progress updates
- Third Party Carriers (Telstra, Optus, etc) - Incident escalations
- Helpdesks (Corporate, Consumer, etc) - Incident escalations
- _ Change Enablement/Management:_
- Network change awareness
- Inputs to approvals
- Policy breaches
- _ Risk Management:_
- Identification of network associated risks
- Tracking and progression through to mitigation / acceptance
- _ Reporting_
- _ Processes or Systems:_
- This includes and is not limited to; managing and facilitating communication channels, developing and refreshing processes, training and onboarding new staff, acting as an escalation point, and overseeing team activities
- _ Team management_
- Be a leader, assess and prioritise work requests, mentor and cultivate a strong work culture.
- _ Network Security:_
- Ensuring all work is conducted in compliance with TPGs security policies and maintaining confidentiality of the information assets and systems.
**Knowledge and experience**
- Minimum 10+ years working in a Telecoms environment
- Minimum 5+ years in Operations
- Minimum 2-3 management experience
- Previous experience of shift operations
- People Management experience; ideally leading teams of 10+
- ITIL Foundation certification (v4 preferred)
- Strong stakeholder management experience
