**The Opportunity**

We have an opportunity for a Traditional Fisheries Management Officer to be part of our Fisheries and Aquaculture Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

The primary purpose of the role is to deliver on legislative requirements in the Fisheries Management Act 2007 related to development of Traditional fisheries management arrangements.

The role provides a dedicated position for ongoing engagement with Aboriginal communities regarding their fishing interests and rights.

The role contributes to delivering the agency’s priorities through effective management of the State’s fisheries and further contributes to the development and implementation of management plans, management policy, strategic projects and initiatives that support the goals and objectives of the Fisheries Management Act 2007.

**Special Conditions**
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Australian residency or current work permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit)
- Opportunity up to March 2027

**Requirements**:

- You demonstrate a strong connection to community, with an understanding of Aboriginal cultural practices and values.
- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
- You actively participate in PIRSA’s Personal Development Plan (PDP).
- You acknowledge your work, health, and safety obligations.

**Remuneration**

ASO5 - $85,790 min - $95,413 max per annum, plus superannuation
