**The Role**

The successful applicant will provide and support training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice. You will join a well-established, experienced and dedicated clinician group within Medicine supported by robust departments throughout the hospital including an outstanding Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. The Tweed Hospital boasts diverse medical pathologies, access to sub-specialty expertise and General Medicine led care. There is an expanding Junior Medical Officer cohort and Medical Student presence. It is a developing tertiary hospital for the Northern Rivers and Southern Gold Coast regions. Whilst Tweed Hospital has a strong support of medical peer groups it retains a country hospital culture that is a delight to work at.

**Our Hospitals**

The Tweed Hospital provides a range of healthcare services to the public including: acute and emergency care, surgical services, women’s care and newborn services, cancer and haematology services, intensive and coronary care units, Mental Health inpatient facilities, Aboriginal Health, and Allied Health Outpatient Clinics. As a regional referral Level 5 base hospital, we work closely with hospitals in Northern NSW and tertiary hospitals in Southern Queensland to support the healthcare needs of our community.

Murwillumbah District Hospital is a local community hospital established in 1903 providing a range of services including: Emergency Department, Operating Suite, Day Surgery, Medical and Surgical Inpatient Units, a Women’s Ambulatory Care Unit comprising Birth Centre, Antenatal Clinic and Gynaecology Clinic, and a well-appointed rehabilitation unit.

Byron Central Hospital provides a range of services including: emergency services, mental health, birthing and maternity services, and ambulatory and allied health services.

**The Location**

**NEWS** Tweed Valley Hospital Development**

Major construction works are underway at the **green build site** of the $673.3 million Tweed Valley Hospital, delivering up to 650 jobs for the local community in addition to a **world-class facility with state of the art installations**.

The new Tweed Valley Hospital will almost double the capacity of the current Tweed Hospital and offer more health services locally. This will ensure more than 5,000 patients each year will not have to travel outside of the area and away from their families and support networks to access life-saving treatments.

The planning and design of the hospital has been a highly collaborative process, involving clinicians and operational staff as well as members of the local community. More than 500 project user group meetings have been held to ensure that the hospital is designed by, and for, the community.
