Drafting Technician

We are seeking to employ DRAFTING TECHNICIAN to join our dynamic team of professionals, to play a crucial role in designing drawings for steel fabrication projects and to process plate profiling jobs to the Production Manager.

DUTIES include but are not limited to:

- Understand and interpret customer requirements; including drawings, written specs and resolving tooling problems when required.
- Prepare workshop drawings for the production team
- Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications to conform to design concepts
- Explain drawings to production teams and to provide adjustments as necessary
- Prepare estimates and budgeting using computerised quotation spreadsheets supplied.
- Job costing including estimating margin, labour requirements (and costs), delivery costs, calculate price, relate price to market and advise the sales team.

SKILLS and knowledge required:

- Estimating skills (forming, cutting)
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Industry knowledge
- Good communication skills.

**Salary**: $73,150 per annum + Super
