We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Arborist with a mature mindset to join our team at the City of Belmont on a casual basis for up to 6 months with possible extension options. Ideally, you’ll be an outcome driven individual that likes to see the tangible differences you can make within the community environment.

This position specialises in the care and maintenance of trees within the City of Belmont and involves various tasks focused on the health, safety and aesthetics of trees.

The role is working from Monday to Friday, 9 day fortnight, and available to start asap.
You will get paid on a weekly basis.

**Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Inspect and assess the health and safety of trees in public spaces
- Perform pruning, planting, and removal of trees as required
- Collaborate with your team and community members and local stakeholders to enhance landscapes and green spaces
- Manage tree-related issues including diseases, pests and damage
- Ensure compliance with Work, Health and Safety legislation and safety practices, policy and procedures
- Delivery of customer service with a focus on community wellbeing
- Assist in the development of skill levels within the team by providing specialist on the job training to other employees as required, and occasional staff supervision
- Assist in the maintenance of other areas within the City when required.
- Minimum 5 years experience working as an Arborist/Tree Maintenance person
- Certificate III in Arboriculture (Desirable)
- Extensive experience in the safe and efficient operation of chainsaws, trailer mounted wood chippers and elevated work platforms (EWP)
- Knowledge of tree felling and tree pruning techniques
- C Class Drivers Licence (MR Drivers Licence desirable)
- Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain for employment
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certificate
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate
- Able to pass a fit for work health screen
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol test

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $42.00 - $46.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- arborist/tree maintenance: 5 years (required)

Licence/Certification:
