Mechanical Fitter

Our client, one of SE Queensland's largest Local Councils, is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their team at the Water Pollution Control Centre. Supporting the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance team you will work a 9 day fortnight with a casual hourly pay of $61.83 + super and allowances. **Key Responsibilities**: - Maintenance and repair of water pumps, sewerage pumps, screens, mixers, conveyers, compressors and all associated mechanical equipment - Undertake electrical maintenance works as permitted by restricted electrical work license - Admin duties including work order forms, time sheets and all other documentation as required - Assist and support the Supervisor in the supervision and training of apprentices - Support after hours operations by participating in the "on-call" roster **Success Profile**: - Trade qualified Fitter and Turner or Mechanical Fitter - Minimum of 5 Years’ experience in the Maintenance and the repair of Water Pumps, Sewerage Pumps, Sewerage Treatment Plants and all associated Mechanical Equipment - Possess a current Restricted Electrical work License (highly desirable) - Current Forklift license - Current manual C class driver's license - White card - Possess Confined Space Entry/Breathing Apparatus Certification and the (Training will need to have been completed within the last 2 years) - Possess Height Safety Certification and the (Training will need to have been completed within the last 2 years) - Vaccinated against Hep A, Hep B and Tetanus (or willing to get) Maxima are committed to advancing workforce diversity and inclusion for all.
