**We’re looking for committed **Educator Support staff** in Melbourne’s **Northern** & Eastern suburbs, who are passionate about supporting people with a disability to achieve their goals. Think this might be you? Then read on**

**About us**

At Onemda, we’re passionate about supporting adults with intellectual disability in learning and life. For more than 50 years, we’ve been delivering a unique mix of learning and therapeutic services which support participants to maximise their wellbeing, achieve their goals and reach their potential.

**What this role involves**

Working alongside Campus Coordinators and Educators, Educator Supports are responsible for delivering high quality programs and support in response to the needs and interests of participants.

**You will**:

- Contributing to the development and delivery of programs that are outcome focused and meet participant goals and aspirations
- Supporting participants to engage in recreational and learning programs
- Ensuring the well-being and safety of participants, and exercising duty of care to participants, other staff and members of the community
- Monitoring and supporting the safe involvement of participants in community-based activities
- Working cooperatively and maintaining effective communication in a manner appropriate to participant needs
- Providing personal care in a responsible and safe manner.
- Committed to putting people at the centre of everything you do
- Have experience and/or special interest in working with people with an intellectual disability, including people with additional complex needs

**Eligibility**
- A current Drivers’ License
- Your Working with Children Check and an NDIS Workers’ Screening Check

**The right qualifications**
- **_A Cert 3 in Disability or another relevant field._** If you have a disability or community services qualification or are working towards one, that’s even better.
- **_Knowledge and understanding_**: You’ll be across the essential principles of the Disability Services Act 2006, the NDIS and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards standards. Plus, you’ll have experience upholding quality safeguards for people with a disability, and a sound knowledge of the Victorian Charter of Human Rights.
