Route Planner

In this role your duties and responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

- Optimize transport planning in the most efficient way for customers and the organization
- Ensure routing is planned in accordance with customers allocated delivery windows
- Maintain a transport database, inputting all information accurately and on time
- Ensure that vehicles are dispatched fully loaded if possible
- Monitor the general operations of staff of the transportation department to make sure their operations are within the guidelines, safety measures, government orders, and administrative policies
- Liaise with drivers to resolve transport and/or routing issues
- Work with relevant department managers to identify and resolve missing or excess stock delivery issues
- Ensure drivers are scheduled in accordance with the Chain of Responsibility - Weight, Time & Restraint
- Assist the Transport Support Officer in conducting necessary investigations to determine the cause of problems like accidents (if any arise) and set up safety measures to avoid recurrence of such issues
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
- Maintain exceptional standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided

You will also be required to use the following software. You will be responsible for keeping up to date with regular training on company process changes and software changes, ensuring you’re utilizing software to the maximum potential while following business processes.

In this role, the software you will use will include but will not be limited to the following:

- Encompass
- Microsoft office suite

Monday to Thursday Day time hours.
