Sydney, Australia Moriarty Foundation Full time

Are you an outstanding and dynamic executive level manager looking for your next opportunity to make a difference?
Do you have a proven track record in leading and managing high functioning, collaborative teams and achieving exceptional organisational outcomes?
Are you passionate about creating positive change amongst children and youth in remote and regional Aboriginal communities?
About Us
Sydney-headquartered not-for-profit Moriarty Foundation is transforming life outcomes for a generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and youth. We enable NT, NSW and Qld Indigenous communities and families to unlock their own children’s potential, with local employment and staff development fundamental to our success. We have approximately 70 staff, and gender equality for participants and staff is in place and is central to our charter.
We have delivered highly effective community-led, locally driven solutions in early learning and football (soccer) since 2012. Our co-founders are Yanyuwa NT man John Moriarty, business owner and the first Indigenous footballer (soccer) to be selected for Australia, and business owner/author/social investor, Ros Moriarty.
Our Board and our team are majority Indigenous. We are in and of the community, and deliver our programs from the perspective of an Aboriginal worldview.
Moriarty Foundation has strong funding partnerships across government, philanthropy and corporate donors. We operate according to best practice business management structures with exemplary financial management and governance, and have well-developed frameworks in theory of change, strategic planning, fundraising strategy, and measurement and evaluation, the latter informed by recent Deloitte Access Economics reviews.
We are affiliated with Aboriginal-owned design agency Balarinji, established in 1983.
About the Job
This exciting position will work in collaboration with, and report to our Executive Director/Board Co-Chair to manage and lead the Foundation to achieve its goals.
You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, drive financial and fundraising strategy, steward stakeholder relationships and cultivate a collegiate culture across the Foundation.
Key responsibilities
Implement and foster Moriarty Foundation’s vision and mission in line with strategic plans, budgets, program curricula and operational structure.
Develop and maintain a collegiate organisational culture that attracts, rewards and retains high calibre people and is aligned with organisational values.
Lead, motivate and manage the team to achieve collaborative success.
Lead a continuous best practice approach to fundraising success.

Align internal resources and structure to support growth and delivery.
About you
We seek a talented, energetic, highly effective Executive General Manager (EGM) with a proven track record in leading and managing high functioning, collaborative teams and achieving exceptional organisational outcomes. You will have an understanding of, and interest in, the culturally nuanced context in which we operate, and a commitment to striving for a more equitable Australia for Indigenous children and youth. You will be comfortable with Moriarty Foundation’s apolitical positioning, where we prioritise addressing points of change over political activism.
With the ability to work proactively, quickly and independently, you will demonstrate a commitment to excellence across strategic, operational, governance and financial delivery. You will be someone who is inclusive and empathetic, and excited about driving sustainable grassroots change in remote and regional Indigenous Australia. You will thrive on challenge, and maintain the highest ethics, integrity and professionalism.
