The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.
Reporting to the Senior Accreditation Policy Advisor, the Policy and Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the effective and efficient operation of the Accreditation Policy team’s policy and projects portfolio.
Acting as the key policy administration reference point, the Policy and Project Coordinator leads the design and development of efficient and consistent administrative processes and systems to support functions relating to the management of policy development in collaboration with Accreditation Policy team members, and interfacing with other teams across the business, National Boards, Ahpra Board’s Accreditation Committee, and external stakeholders.
The role will also support team members with high level administrative, secretariat and coordination expertise and advice.
This is a full time, fixed term (12 months) role and can be located in any Ahpra location.
**About you and the role**
Utlising your exceptional organisational skills and experience in process improvement and administrative support, you will lead the development and review of policies, procedures and guidelines to support the Accreditation Policy team in its delivery against its workplace.
**In this role you will**:
- Lead the design and development of consistent continuous improvement activities to support functions relating to the management of policy development
- Manage public consultation processes, including dissemination of consultation materials, collating consultation responses and responding to stakeholder requests
- Coordinate consultation processes for team projects, including database management; drafting correspondence to stakeholders and disseminating relevant information out to stakeholders for preliminary and public consultation; managing submissions from stakeholders; liaising with Ahpra’s Communications team to arrange publication of consultation papers, consultation reports, submissions, workplan and other papers which may be identified; and providing advice to other staff on what’s required for consultations
- Coordinate key team accreditation reports on relevant projects
- Manage data collection with accreditation authorities, including collation and cleaning of any data
- Provide policy support to the team and Ahpra Board’s Accreditation Committee, including agenda development; communiques from meetings; and managing the Accreditation meeting tracker and dashboard
- Coordinate working group meetings, including arranging meetings; sending invitations; setting agendas, managing papers; online hosting of meetings; and taking and drafting meeting outcomes
- Manage the team workplan, and
- Contribute to team projects and activities.
- Degree qualification in a relevant area of expertise or relevant work experience
- Considerable experience in process development and improvement
- Considerable experience providing high level administration and coordination
- Experience in project administration and support
- Sophisticated written and verbal communication skills
- A good understanding of how governments regulate in the public interest, stakeholder consultation processes and probity issues
- Well developed conceptual and analytical skills
