For over a decade, Azuma restaurant has been repeatedly recognised and awarded for its outstanding food, eclectic beverage selection curated by our proud master sommelier, and consistently friendly and knowledgeable service. We proudly celebrated our 28th anniversary this year.

At the end of 2023, we farewelled our cherished home location in Chifley Tower after twenty-one remarkable years due to the Tower’s redevelopment project. Reflecting on the past years, we are filled with gratitude for the kindness and unwavering support we've received from our loyal customers. We now are in the final process of relocating to new premises in Sydney CBD and looking for additional new staff to help us build another world-class Azuma with us.

**About the Role**

**Key responsibilities**:

- Maintain high quality customer service standards. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and hospitality at all times;
- Excellent communication and organisational skills;
- Checking stock levels, ordering supplies, and implementing monthly stocktakes;
- Overseeing reservations and building relationships with regular guests;
- Confidently offering advice about menu and wine choices. excellent knowledge of wine and food pairing - great Japanese product knowledge is essential, and a wine background is a bonus;
- Experience in managing functions;
- Efficiently taking orders and serving food and beverages;
- Previous experience in a similar role in a fine dining environment or busy venues;
- Provide knowledgeable and attentive service to guests, offering recommendations based on guests’ preferences and the selected menu, and answering questions about the menu and the drink selections;
- Assist in wine presentation (i.e., opening, and pouring at the table with finesse and professionalism);
- Sincere attitude to resolving customer concerns;
- Friendly and positive disposition;
- An understanding of stock management and managing stocktake;
- Great knowledge of Japanese food, beverages, and wine;
- Hold a current valid RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) qualification and Australian working rights.

We are looking for someone with an in-depth knowledge of food and beverages, who understands how to run a seamless service, and has a genuine passion for hospitality. An interest in Japanese food and culture is essential - an existing understanding of Japanese food and culture is a bonus.

**About the Process**

**Job Type**: Permanent part-time (average 25-30 hours a week) or Full-time

**Schedule**:10am/11.30am-, 5.30pm
