**About the Opportunity**

As a result of our continuing growth and pipeline of exciting new projects, Ethos Urban is seeking a permanent full-time Economist based in our Melbourne office to join our Economics team.

This role is at the Urbanist level and is ideally suited to a recent graduate or an emerging professional of up to 2+ years’ experience seeking to establish a career in land use and property economics. The role is within a dynamic and well-respected national team of over 15 Economists.

As an Economist you will work on varied projects with a range of talented urban professionals - continuing to learn and share your insights for the best client outcomes. The role will suit a self-starter, lateral thinker, and someone with a passion for solving problems, particularly as it relates to our cities and regions.

**About the Team**

Ethos Urban’s economics team is a leading consultancy in the economic analysis of _“people, places and spaces”_.

Our practical approach to urban and regional economic analysis is focused on providing private and public sector clients with robust advice that informs decision-making. We work with developers, investors, policy makers, businesses, peak bodies, Government departments and agencies, and many other entities seeking advice on how economics applies to their real-world issues.

This includes a wide variety of assignments, from detailed land use analysis through to advice on the economic impact of major infrastructure projects.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Work side-by-side with economists, town planners, urban designers, social planners, and community & stakeholder engagement professionals.
- Have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of complex urban projects located in Victoria and nationally - from conceptualisation through to approval and delivery.
- Work with and learn from some of the best economic and urban professionals in Australia.
- Enjoy working with a wide variety of clients including major landowners, state and local government authorities and agencies, and corporate developers.
- Participate and develop skills in all aspects of economic consultancy including proposal writing, research & analysis, preparation of advice and client liaison.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Economics or related degree/ discipline (essential).
- Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of verbal and written communication.
- Good report writing skills.
- Good planning and organising skills.
- Experience in, or willing to learn Geographic Information System (GIS) programs and data visualisation techniques.
- Be adaptable & flexible in working across the organisation in various roles and responsibilities.
- Able to build rapport with clients and other project team members easily.
- Able to work co-operatively and flexibly with other team members.
- Strive for excellence.
- Preferred: Driver's license.
