Mechanical Maintenance Fitter/tradesperson

Opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter/Tradesperson to use and progress your experience with a metals recycling company as part of their maintenance team.

Our client is a leading innovator in manufacturing and distributing long steel products. They are Australia's only fully vertically integrated steel manufacturing utilising scrap metal recycling and downstream distribution. They provide metal recycling solutions to a broad range of scrap metal generators such as householders, local government, mining, demolition, industrials, automotive recyclers, waste companies.

Their Chipping Norton site is their homebase and workshop location, which specialises in aluminium and copper metals recycling. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter with some knowledge or experience of steel fabrication/welding, to join their Maintenance Team in NSW which covers 7 sites between Lisarow to Wollongong. You will use a work ute and/or truck for travel between sites.

You will be managing the maintenance and repair of steel recycling equipment and mobile plants, balers, steel shears, forklifts, loaders, modification and fabrication plus some shutdown work when required.

This trade qualified position involves mechanical / hydraulic fitting, troubleshooting, fault identification and rectification, welding & fabrication, waste management/heavy equipment repair and maintenance.

Experience in waste management, or recycling equipment maintenance would be beneficial.

Day shifts are on offer 7am to 3:06pm with overtime available when required.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Maintenance of steel recycling equipment and mobile plants
- Repair of steel recycling equipment and mobile plants
- Maintenance and repair of Balers, Steel shears, Forklifts and Loaders
- Modification and Fabrication
- Ensuring to follow safety procedures
- Shutdown work when required
- Willingness to participate with competency-based training requirements

**Essential Criteria**
- Trade qualification - Mechanical / Hydraulic fitting
- Experience with troubleshooting, fault identification and rectification
- Welding and fabrication experience highly regarded
- Waste management / Heavy equipment repair and maintenance experience beneficial
- Must have a can-do mindset and be open to continued learning
- Must hold a current driver's license
- Available Monday to Friday
