**Your new company**

Your new company is a local government branch which is an innovative customer centric leader in park services for the Logan community. This is one of the largest Councils in Australia, providing community services and facilities to a growing population representing many different cultures.

**Your new role**

Your new role is to conduct pest control activities including inspecting and treating areas of land, water and roadways that breed mosquitos while maintaining services associated with Population Health and monitoring the prevalence of adult mosquito activity across the city. The Pest management technician also conducts pest control programs, responding to customer requests concerning pest management matters, providing technical advice to residents concerning mosquito and pest control matters as needed and accurately record all mosquito and pest control activity.

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to succeed in this role you will need:

- Possession of a Pest Management Technician's Licence is required.
- A sound knowledge of integrated pest management strategies used to control mosquitos and other pests.
- Have experience communicating and dealing with people at all levels and to make prompt reliable decisions within bounds of allocated responsibilities.
- Be self-motivated and demonstrate ability to work independently and deal with residents with tact and understanding.
