**TITLE**: FULL TIME CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST (Project based)
Ardreagh Formwork Pty Ltd is a civil formwork company based in Melbourne. Our onsite construction activities include but are not limited to civil and concrete work and structural formwork installation. Due to an increase in our workload, we have seen increased growth and require a full-time (38 hours) Engineering Technologist to join our team to assist the construction team (Project Engineer and Construction Project Manager) with the technical aspects of the project by providing design engineering. You will be responsible for analysing and modifying new and existing engineering technologies used in the design and construction of infrastructure and commercial projects.
**1. Main Duties/Responsibilities**
The Engineering Technologist works within a collaborative and supportive team environment to provide the organisation with central engineering and systems support. You will be exposed to a great variety of projects and career progression opportunities whilst working directly alongside Engineers, Designers, Project Managers and Clients
- Prepare contract drawings from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
- Utilise standards, technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies.
- Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
- Understand how to read and interpret supplier/manufacturer drawings.
- Assisting more senior Engineers with the analysis of information, production of designs and computations
- Preparing specifications, civil engineering proposals and other documentation
- Writing formwork inspection and testing plans for the client
- Sourcing relevant inspection and testing documentation for the client
- Creating and submitting relevant registers
- Ensure you have a clear understanding and ability to interpret formwork installation and testing procedures
- Writing and submitting technical queries
- Analysing specifications and Data Sheets
- Participating in planning to achieve prescribed objectives
- Undertake engineering as required to include the following: concept, detail design, and analyses and /or calculations to enable the preparation of documentation
- Prepare civil reports for clients on matters relating to engineering services.
- Arrange for formwork to be tested and maintained to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Use data from technical reports to organise routine maintenance of formwork systems
- Perform drafting with the use of various software such as AutoCad, using the drawings and plans for the sites/projects, and determine the best possible outcome for the installation of formwork
- Ensure all engineering and work preparation activities are carried out with due regard to safe working practice, safety, personnel and the integrity of the plant.
- Identify for planning purposes the effects and impact on the schedule that any design, specification or field change will cause.
- Work with the Project Engineering Team to produce any related studies or project method statements
- Assist with material take offs from tender drawings to commence the work and review the drawings by initiating and managing technical queries.
- Ensure correct implementation of QA/QC systems and procedures;
- Ensure contractor quality management compliance;
- QA/QC document preparation and co-ordination;
**2. Qualifications & Experience**
- Relevant Bachelor Degree
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with imported formwork systems
- A sound knowledge of Doka and Peri Formwork Systems
- Clear understanding of and ability to interpret drawings and documentation.
**3. Skills**
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to write proposals and reports.
- A developing skill in dealing with technical matters when required.
- To be able to work within a team or autonomously.
- Ability to prioritise and strong organisational skills.
- Multitasking capability.
- Professionalism in the workplace.
**Salary**: $120,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
