Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) to lead their Post Anaesthesia Recovery Unit (PARU) and Pain Management nursing team. This position is responsible and accountable for the planning, organising, coordinating and management of these exciting services.
The successful NUM will lead and coordinate the day to day running of our busy Recovery unit. Your ability to assess, prioritise and problem solve is essential to ensure timely patient flow and efficiency of the service. The NUM must be able to respond proactively to the varying care requirements in order to facilitate safe, appropriate and patient focussed care.
You will be responsible for the quality of care, competency of staff, performance improvement and contribute to the development of institutional programs and policies. This position will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by supporting staff and fostering a culture of clinical excellence through evidence-based practice, promoting autonomy and accountability.
You will work collaboratively with the Perioperative management team to ensure the delivery of quality patient focused care in a facility who puts patients and their families first.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Minimum 5 years Recovery Unit nursing experience
- Post graduate qualifications relevant to specialty
- Experience in rostering: managing skill mix and patient acuity
- Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal/communication skills
