**About the Team**

The Intelligence team undertakes a range of functions including the provision of intelligence products that inform the Fair Work Ombudsman’s strategic, investigative, and operational initiatives. Intelligence Analysts are primarily responsible for the production of value-added intelligence products following the evaluation and analysis of information collected across internal and external sources, including the Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) anonymous report function.

**About the FWO**

The FWO is an independent statutory office established by the Fair Work Act 2009 (Fair Work Act). Our functions outline the responsibilities we have as set by the Fair Work Act and other legislation to achieve our purpose:

- Provide education, assistance, advice and guidance to employers, employees, outworkers, outworker entities and organisations.
- Promote and monitor compliance with workplace laws.
- Inquire into and investigate breaches of the Fair Work Act.
- Take appropriate enforcement action.
- Perform our statutory functions efficiently, effectively, economically, and ethically.

**Eligibility**

**Typical Duties**

The primary duties of the APS 5 Intelligence Analyst include:

- Assessment of anonymous reports and the research, analysis, integration, and evaluation of insights for the formation of tailored intelligence products.
- Formatting and synthesis of information to assist processing and interpretation of analytical results.
- Preparation of written briefing materials and reports to support operational decision making.
- Monitoring current emerging issues and trends in the workplace relations environment and internal data systems in alignment with the FWO strategic priorities.

- Work effectively under the support and general direction of Senior Analysts and within a team to contribute to the development, planning and production of intelligence outputs and outcomes for the FWO.
- Manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and proactively contribute to a positive, fast paced, dynamic team environment.
- Have the ability to assess anonymous reports and produce value-added intelligence products, following the evaluation and analysis of information collected across multiple sources.
- Possess excellent written communication and liaison skills, and a high level of personal drive.

**Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and identify issues, patterns and understanding from information collected across various sources.
- Demonstrated ability to provide accurate, consistent, and timely advice to customers and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to analyse and prepare substantial submissions, complex recommendations, and briefings.
- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to manage competing work priorities to meet tight deadlines.
