South Burnett CTC Inc (CTC) is a not-for-profit community organisation committed to supporting disadvantaged individuals across various demographics. Our services encompass Foster Care, Residential Care, Youth & Family Services, Domestic and Family Violence Services, and Disability Services, operating across the South Burnett area, including Kingaroy, Wondai, Nanango, and Murgon.

Our Residential Services program provides a safe and supportive environment for young people who cannot live at home or in family-based placements. We operate several shared houses where young individuals reside together with the care and support of trained Youth Workers.

** Position Overview**:
Residential Youth Workers deliver day to day care and support to young people. Using a trauma informed approach, Youth Workers create an environment where young people feel safe and are connected positively with their community. The Youth Worker completes a range of activities every day from cooking and cleaning to supporting educational and recreational activities.

Youth Workers operate on a rotating roster, ensuring that care is provided around the clock. Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided to equip you with the skills necessary for success in this role.

As a Youth Worker with CTC Residential Services, you will be working with young people who have experienced trauma in an environment with high government licensing oversight.
- Hold a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention / equivalent or willingness to obtain
- Complete and clear a LCS screening (Child safety and personal history screening check)
- Hold or be able to obtain Working with Children Blue Card and an NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Hold a Current Queensland Driver’s Licence
- Hold or be able to obtain a First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Be able to maintain a clean and hygienic environment and prepare healthy meals
- Have empathy and understanding for children who have experienced trauma
- Be able to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
- Be committed and able to provide trauma-informed care and empathy for young people
- Respect Human Rights, Cultural Identity and Maintain Professional Standards

You will be required to maintain accurate documentation and communication with team members regarding the care provided to each resident.

** Salary & Benefits**:
Salary details will be discussed during the interview process. Following training and buddy shifts, the position will be a Level 2 under the SCHADS Award ($43.23 per hour - casual).
