**What you’ll be doing**:

- Manage and maintain irrigation systems across the Hume City Council municipality, including various sporting fields, passive reserves and community facilities.
- Plan, manage, supervise and assist the Coordinator Turf Management with the delivery of Council’s capital works programs.
- Monitor and report on the contractor performance and quality of work in compliance with the Parks Service Delivery Standards.
- Develop and implement an annual Turf Improvement Program for passive open space areas within the municipality
- Support the Coordinator of Turf Management by representing the Turf Management department in various capital works related projects.
- Manage and report on assigned budgets.

**The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role**:

- Extensive Turf Management experience and knowledge.
- Experience and knowledge in the installation and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems.
- Ability to read and understand irrigation and drainage plans.
- Knowledge and understanding of wire tracing, valve repairs and replacement works.
- Ability to prioritise workload and to carry out duties and follow guidelines.
- Ability to gain co-operation of and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising and managing both staff and contractors.
- Demonstrated experience in park management.
- Proven ability to effectively plan, implement and monitor work programs.
- Ability to work within set budgets and timelines.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma Turf Management and/or Advanced Certificate in Turf Management.
- Current Driver’s License.
