**About your role**:
Lithgow small arms facility manages defence weaponry refurbishment programs as well as supporting weapon design and development projects for the Australian Defence Force.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring that processes are set up and run in accordance with safety, quality and cost requirements.
- Develop processes that will enable the stable manufacture of product to customer requirements. These processes will include CNC machining processes
- Minimise machine down time by ensuring that all possible preparation is performed ‘off line’
- Perform initial and ongoing process set ups as required
- Ensure that processes are effectively handed over to Production and that the necessary training and instructions are provided to Production Staff
- Comply with all relevant company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies and framework
- Provide technical support when required and ensure a prompt, customer service orientated response to Production problems
- Provide accurate and timely input to estimating and quotation activities
**How About You?**
- Cert III level or equivalent in CNC / Manufacturing related course
- Previous experience in a similar role with good understanding of CNC programming
- Understanding of CNC machining processes would be highly desirable
- Knowledge of the Defence and/or Manufacturing industry would be highly advantageous
**Good to Know**
As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
