Data Design Lead

**2x Data Design Lead | Sydney** **Permanent Full Time and 12month Fixed Term Contract** As the Data Design Lead, you’ll provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of on-premise and cloud based data and analytics platforms, including batch and real time workflows and data flows, in a large and complex environment through utilisation of data design best practices, in line with data management, and data governance standards resulting in the delivery of high quality data products solutions. **You’ll be responsible for**: - Leading the data design standards, direction and work allocation of Allianz Australia data analyst, design and engineering function, including implementation of Integrated Data Platform (IDP) solutions and operations. - Engaging and collaborate with Information Technology and business stakeholders across divisions to understand data related requirements and oversee the design and implementation of data products to meet enterprise, division and project specific needs. - Leading the data products design in alignment with Allianz Australia data standards and governance controls, Allianz Australia strategic priorities and regulatory requirements. - Providing technical and strategic advice to the data engineering team on data best practices and data architecture, to drive more effective and efficient use of data platforms. - Developing and maintain Allianz Australia data assets including data models, data mappings, standards and frameworks and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the data products. - Identifying and analyse emerging trends in data products design and provide inputs and consultation for data teams. - Identifying opportunities to improve existing data processes and practices across the data assets and data platforms deployment and manage and oversee the implementation of identified initiatives. - Implementing and maintain the Data Management framework including the metadata management, Data Quality and Master/Reference data, to ensure effective data management across the enterprise. - Training and support our broader data community on the effective use of our data platforms and data assets. - Capturing and maintain metadata and data lineage across the data landscape to contribute to enterprise information asset catalogue and the Business Glossary. - Planning, design and implement data quality management solutions to ensure the quality of data through addressing both prevention and remediation of poor data quality. - Leading the implementation of Master/Reference data across the business areas, aligning to the data management framework. **What’s important to your success** - Significant experience in leading the delivery of large and complex data solutions in complex hierarchical organisations. - Knowledge of event driven workflows, serialisation formats, data modelling and data architecture for performance. - Experience in technically supporting a team of data technology professionals and act as SME. - Knowledge of Industry trends and data products design standards and best practices in data technology, data platform including but not limited to artificial intelligence, data process automation and big data. - Experience with industry leading data management tools (Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality, Master/Reference Data, etc.). - Advanced skill in SQL and data profiling, data analysis and modelling tools and comprehensive knowledge in modern data architecture including Cloud native technologies and design patterns. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence. - Demonstrated evidence of being self-motivated, results orientated and driven to improve business processes. - Demonstrated evidence of ability to partner effectively with business users and establish strong professional relationships across the enterprise. **What's on offer?** - Access to discount in home insurance, health, gym and retailers - Work in a high performing team and be enabled to operate as the expert in your space - Feel safe, balanced and trusted in a culture that is all about helping you to live your best life - We are passionate about doing things differently, so feel confident to speak up and challenge status quo **About us** Allianz is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
