Are you a passionate Dietitian who’s interested in women’s football and athlete nutrition? This is your chance to join a proud and historic club as Essendon Football Club (EFC) looks to appoint a Dietitian in our AFLW program.
**About us**
Essendon FC - “The Bombers” - are a professional sporting team in the Australian Football League. As home to 5 sporting teams, we run our AFL men’s and women’s programs, VFL women’s and men’s programs, and a wheelchair football team. But we’re more than the game. Not only do we exist to win premierships, we aim to give back to our loyal membership base, and importantly, our community. **About the role**
Under the guidance of our Lead Performance Dietitian, as our Dietitian - Women’s, you will be responsible for the delivery of a sports nutrition program to maximise the performance of our AFLW playing list. Including the delivery of education and optimising the dietary intake of individual players according to their development plan and position.
You will be responsible for:
- Delivering group and individual education to AFLW players with the main goal of supporting good health and optimising performance.
- Providing education to AFLW players (with a particular focus on the development group) on nutrition, hydration, supplementation and lifestyle topics.
- Working closely with football operations, high performance and coaching staff to provide recommendations on best practice for nutrition and hydration.
**About you**
With a Bachelor or Master of Nutrition and Dietetics and an ISAK accreditation, you’ll have a proactive approve to driving nutrition standards and behaviours and experience developing meal plans and menus for athletes. Having experience working in elite sport, you’ll be able to communicate clearly with elite athletes, coaches and other key stakeholders. Being an accredited practicing dietitian or an accredited sports dietitian through Sports Dietitians Australia will be desirable.
