**One Door Mental Health (ODMH) is looking for a Peer Worker to join our incredible Head to Health team at Roselands, NSW on a fixed term part-time basis.**

**About the Program**
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown in Greater Sydney, the Federal Government has funded Head to Health Hubs to:
- provide accessible, affordable mental health services and support in the community
- reduce pressure on Emergency Departments, and
- support GPs to provide treatment and care to people with mental ill health.
The ODMH Head to Health Hubs are delivered through a mix of video, phone, and face to face support.
**About the Role**
Peer Workers will:
- create a space of hope, optimism, and inclusion for people who experience mental distress due to the current pandemic.
- Engage with sector-stakeholders to enhance their capacity to better support people accessing the mental health system.
- Provide soft, supported, entry into appropriate mental health supports.
- Assist in transitioning people as they move between different levels of care (Stepped Care Model)

**Your skills and experience**
- Certificate IV in AOD, Mental Health or Peer Work, or Diploma of Community Services.
- Lived experience of mental health challenges, personal recovery, and service use and a willingness to use experience to role model recovery to support others.
- Willingness to purposefully share their personal experience to support others and to contribute to change.
- Understanding of and a commitment to the principles of peer support; inclusive of a recovery-focused approach.
- Clear awareness about selfcare and skills for prioritising self-care.
- Ability to manage workflow and within clear timeframes.
- Ability to exercise personal responsibility and work as part of team, with the support andguidance of the Manager.
- Ability to effectively communicate in all interactions with stakeholders.
- A current driver licence and access to a fully insured vehicle.
**Additional Details**
One Door Mental Health requires all staff to have a Police Check clearance, a current Working with Children's Check and NDIS Worker Screening clearance and appropriate COVID-19 Vaccination.
