**Position Information**:
Chester Hill High School (CHHS) is a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school situated in south western Sydney and is part of the Auburn Schools Educational Network. The school encompasses an Intensive English Centre. Chester Hill High School has a current student enrolment of 1195 (1047 mainstream, 148 IEC). The school is culturally diverse with 93% of students possessing a language background other than English. Chester Hill High School has 117 refugee or refugee-like students and a growing number of students with an Aboriginal background. All students are encouraged to achieve in an environment that provides academic challenge and artistic, cultural and sporting opportunities. Strong parental and community partnerships are a feature of the school.
**Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (secondary) in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
Skills and experience in effectively using data to plan, implement and evaluate individual student learning plans to monitor student growth and improvement in literacy, numeracy and behavioural outcomes in collaboration with classroom teachers and head teachers.
Capacity to contribute to school-wide professional learning by providing specialist advice and mentoring to support teachers to enhance classroom practice for students with learning and support needs.
Capacity to support teachers in differentiating the curriculum for students with learning needs as well as the ability to work with students in supporting their learning through individual, small group or team-teaching environments.
Evidence of highly developed organisation, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with staff, students, parents, outside agencies and the wider community.
