**About the role**
- The Day Oncology Unit comprises of 16 chairs and 3 beds, operating business hours Monday-Friday.
- Reporting directly to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will enjoy a great working environment with a proactive leadership team.
- We provide the Administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT for people with cancer (Haematology and Oncology) and a Symptom and Urgent Review Clinic (SURC) for symptom support (phone/telehealth/in person for service users during, and up to 3 months after, SACT. In addition to this, we provide support and outreach services at Maryborough on a weekly basis for SACT administration.
- The Oncology Nurse Educator as part of Centre of Education and Training (CET) supports local in-services, learner nurses, Central Venous Access Device and SACT administration training, as well as supporting post graduate education. We’re proudly part of the graduate nurse rotation and year 2 enhancement program.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Admitting and discharging patients on IBA/ARIA
- Answering phone queries
- Assisting Day Oncology and SURC nursing team as requested/delegated
- Completion of audits as required
**Skills and experience**
- Competent computer skills including IBA, BOSSNET, ARIA - not essential as can be taught
- Customer service
- Excellent communication skills
- Good phone manner
- Excellent prioritising and organisational skills.
