The Role

Training Authority Maritime Warfare (TAMW) is the principal warfare training authority of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). TAMW provides Maritime Warfare training for all rank levels from Seaman to Captain via a wide variety of courses ranging from one week to two years.

The School of Navigation Warfare, situated at HMAS Watson, Sydney, is a significant element of TAMW, delivering navigation training to Maritime Warfare Sailors and Officers.

The Training and Development Specialist role will work directly for the

Course Implementation Officer (CIO)

and act as conduit to the OIC and Senior Navigation Instructors for the implementation of Stages 1-3 of the Maritime Warfare Officer Course (MWOC) and various professional navigation courses. The Course Officer will work as part of a high performing team to support delivery of high-quality training for the RAN Maritime Warfare Officer and Navigation community. This is a training administration and coordination position, with a training development and individual training planning element to the role.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

Coordinate, schedule and implement training programs in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for coordination and allocation of training resources and support services.

Participate in quality assurance reviews of training deliverables.

Contribute to innovative training design and development activities for improved training outcomes.

Experience in working with Defence, either in Defence industry or as serving member

desirable

)

Currently hold or have the ability to obtain an Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance
