**About the Role**
This role is part of a friendly and committed team of skilled mechanics responsible for routine servicing, repairs and maintenance for council’s light and heavy vehicle, major and minor plant.
- Contribute to a high quality, safe and compliant workshop environment
- Work on a widely varied fleet of cars, trucks and plant (backhoe, tractor, forklift, trailers, side and rear-loader garbage trucks, road and footpath sweeper, tippers, mowers etc)
- Attend breakdowns onsite to assist council operations
- Exercise high precision trade skills in the diagnosis and determination of servicing requirements
- Vehicle and truck training when available from the supplier

**Skills & Experience**
- Qualified motor mechanic with postgraduate trade qualifications
- Cert 3 Automotive Mechanical Technology Light Vehicle
- Competence in computer programs for data entry
- Experience working with late model cars, including hybrid and electric vehicles, as well as a range of trucks and plant
- Ability to train others in the correct use of plant and equipment
